The Joala 18 building is a historic brick building with Neo-Gothic and Renaissance design elements in a clean joint finish, serving as the architectural accent of the front square of the Kreenholm factory complex. Built in 1893 as the residence for the director of the manufactory.

Since 2015, the building has housed the Narva Art Residency (NART), which hosts exhibitions, workshops, and lectures. The Narva Art Residency (NART) operates under the Estonian Academy of Arts in collaboration with Narva Gate and with the support of the Estonian Ministry of Culture.
